Global warming is a fact and is fast catching up to us. Its high time that the automotive industry shift towards non-polluting cars or, at least, for more fuel efficient cars. The main disadvantage of standard fuel cars is that the engine continues to burn fuel, uselessly, during traffic stops. Advances in technology has allowed automotive giants like Honda to produce hybrid cars like the honda insight. This car runs on standard fuels but is supported by an electric motor. Also, it fuel engine is turned off in stops, thus conserving fuel, and is restarted by the electric motor. The Fisker Karma is also a hybrid car. However, it drive is based on electrics alone. Its hybrid configuration allows an standard fuel engine to recharge the batteries when power is low. Hydrid configurations allow greater fuel economy for these two cars.

The cadillac sts has a 100% standard fuel engine and as such may seem incomparable to the two previously mentioned cars. The honda hybrid above has rated fuel consumption for about 50 miles per gallon. The cadillac sts, has 17-26 mpg depending on the conditions. For a 100% standard fueled car of this size, that isn’t bad. Thus, regardless of choice, the best option is always fuel efficiency. This saves the earth and therefore all its creatures and is also helps the wallet.
